TOWN OF CLARKSTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT SIGNS FOR SCHEDULING SOFTWARE

Filed under: Customers, Press Releases — admin @ 7:40 pm

The Town of Clarkstown Police Department (CPD) has signed an Agreement to implement the Police Officer Scheduling System (POSS). The Clarkstown Police Department, which is located approximately 25 miles north of New York City, has just over 200 employees serving the 80,000 residents of the Town.

The Clarkstown Police Department recently ranked as one of the top Safest Communities in the United States. Clarkstown continuously looks for ways to leverage software that will make the Department more effective. They are regarded as leaders in new police department technology investment both in Rockland County and beyond.  This willingness to progress to new technology has enhanced and increased their ability to serve their community.

Scheduling officers and then maintaining those schedules properly has been a completely manual operation at CPD. Day off  requests, overtime and staffing levels have all been tracked in a series of ledger books, folders and paper documents. “The ‘red book’ (a reference to the ledger book where all time off requests are made) has served us well but we needed to find software that would reduce the lost productivity associated with the manual process”, states Lt. Steve Morgan. “POSS is easy to use, flexible to meet our specific contractual rules and will streamline the Department’s personnel process from daily scheduling through to payroll”.

The implementation of POSS will begin this month and is expected to go live within the first quarter.
