GLENVILLE, NY POLICE TO STREAMLINE SCHEDULES AND TIME OFF REQUESTS WITH POSS

At the Glenville Police Department a series of spreadsheets have evolved over the years as the method to create the shift schedule and track time off balances. This process also includes multi-part time off and overtime slips. The situation became even more challenging as the people who created the spreadsheets are no longer with the Department. “We have faced staff cut backs at the PD so we need to look for ways to streamline our operation” stated Chief Michael Ranalli “POSS will allow us manage the shift schedule, time off requests and overtime as an integrated system and save time for administration and supervisors.

The Town of Glenville has 35 employees in their Police department which serves a population of approximately 28,000 residents including the Village of Scotia.

“The spreadsheets in use for the scheduling system at the Glenville PD had become difficult to maintain and lacked integration” stated Mike McGuire (VP of Business Development).  “We look forward to working with GPD to implement POSS.”  The project will be kicked off this month.
